Holland America Line Loreto Mexico

A fabulous port of call on a Holland America Line ‘Sea of Cortez’ cruise is the beautiful seaside village of Loreto. Founded in 1697 by Juan Maria Salvatierra, a Jesuit priest, Loreto’s cobbled plaza and streets is alive with over 300 years of history and makes for a lovely stop off point.

Holland America Line can arrange a number of shore excursions in and around Loreto such as the Loreto Walking Tour, a visit to the San Javiar Mission and snorkeling at Isla Coronados.

South American Sailings 2009-2010

Holland America Line has announced plans for Ms Veendam to sail South America in 2009-2010. She will cruise South America in the autumn of 2009 and the winter and spring of 2010.

Before embarking on her South America Cruises she will undergo extensive renovations including a new pool, new entertainment and enrichment options, new staterooms and décor.

The sailings onboard Ms Veendam will vary from 16 days to 20 days.

Holland America Penthouse Suite

If you thought penthouses were the preserve of hotels then think again. Holland America Line has penthouse suites as big as 1318 square feet that have the facilities to match any top five-star hotel.

Holland America Line have fitted out their penthouse suites with King-size beds, living room, dining room, dressing room, powder room, a two person sofa bed, private stereo system and mini-bar. After doing all this you would think HAL could supply a microwave – oh, wait – they have!

New Extensive Menu

Holland America Line has launched a new menu for The Pinnacle Grill onboard Ms Eurodam. This restaurant is the only, reservations only dining venue across the Holland America Line fleet.

The menu has been created by Master Chef Rudi Sodamin and includes a variety of new additions such as lobster and Colorado lamp chops. Many seafood dishes and beef dishes have also been added to the menu.

To complete the new menu, there has not just been an addition of main courses but appetizers and desserts as well to go with an extensive wine list.

Holland America Line Dining Choice

Already known for its culinary delights on board all of their ships, Holland America Line have introduced choice-based dining, the appropriately named ‘As You Wish’ dining.

HAL customers can now choose from either the traditional option of pre-set seating and dining or a completely flexible dining option. To enable this, one level of the two-tiered restaurant has been allocated to traditional diners and the other for those choosing the flexible option. Holland American Line customers choose their option at the time of booking.

New Scandinavian Sailings

Holland America Line is to introduce two new six day Scandinavian sailings for 2009. The itineraries will see guests visit Sweden, Denmark and Norway onboard the lines flagship; Ms Rotterdam.

The cruise line are offering round-trip sailing from Rotterdam with the first sailing departing on July 18th 2009 and the second on July 24th 2009 with a third 12 day voyage departing on July 30th 2008.

The two six day itineraries can be combined to form a 12 day sailing and the 12 day voyage can be combined with the second of the six day sailings to form an 18 day voyage.
